About Project

Form Design Concept – Ahvaz Urban Vision

Ahvaz, the capital of Khuzestan Province in Iran, is a city deeply rooted in history and culture. Positioned along the banks of the Karun River, it has long been a hub of trade and commerce. Yet, despite its historical richness, the city faces pressing environmental challenges , including extreme heat, air pollution, and water scarcity.

In response, Ahvaz presents a design narrative that fuses traditional Persian architecture with modern urban development. Historic bazaars, lush gardens, and ancient ruins reflect its vibrant past, while soaring towers and modern infrastructure symbolize its aspirations for the future.

To address both heritage and progress, the following core principles guide the design vision:

  • Sustainable Architecture: Implement passive design strategies to reduce energy use and enhance thermal comfort.

  • Green Infrastructure: Expand green spaces and urban forests to counter climate change and improve air quality.

  • Water Conservation: Integrate water-saving technologies and rainwater harvesting.

  • Cultural Preservation: Restore historic architecture and neighborhoods with care and reverence.

  • Community Engagement: Actively involve local residents to ensure their voices shape the future of the city.

By weaving these strategies together, designers can craft spaces that are both resilient and deeply rooted in place.

Material Philosophy

Utilizing Natural Materials

The design emphasizes the use of natural raw materials in construction, celebrating the textures, tones, and authenticity of the local environment. Each material is thoughtfully selected to respond to contextual needs and client requirements, balancing functionality with aesthetic harmony.
